Feel like praying???

Everybody if you would keep me in your prayers. I have been doing a lot of contemplating and praying about what God has for me in the future. From the way I have been feeling lead, God is leading me towards becoming a Naval Medical Officer. I have decided that I am going to persue the Naval Academy. This is definately going to take the hand of the Lord, but I have seen Him do amazing things in my life as well as others. I know that if this is his will he will allow the doors to be opened. So, if you have nothing else to pray about please keep me in your prays. Not that God will make this happen, but that if it be his will he open the right doors. Thank you.

If you have anything that you would like me to pray for leave a comment and I will put it on my prayer list.

OH Yeah and I forgot... it really is like I am always at the beach... the only time that I wear shoes is at work or when I am at the gym. Pretty awesome huh!!! Yeah the Navy is Rough... I don't know how I do it!!!

Bri -

I know tyou have been thinking about this for a while. Glad to see you have chosen a direction and that you are letting the Lord open / close the doors that He desires for you.

You are always in our prayers - we will be specific about this one. Keep focus, serve the Lord and have fun!

Hi there Brian,
I stumbled upon this page while looking for pictures of Rota, Spain. We may be moving there so I was trying to get some info. Do you like it there? We lived in Naples, Italy for three years and have been back for a year.
Your prayer request toutched me, and I will keep you in mind in hopes that God will answer your needs.
God Bless,
Ashton

Hey Brian,

I'm glad you are set on becoming a Naval Medical Officer. I wish you the best of luck, however, I just graduated from the Naval Academy and they only commission somewhere around 15 Med Corps officers each year. That's out of over 1,000 graduates. It is extremely competitive and the odds are not that great if Med Corps is what you are truly set on. I am a prior enlisted sailor, so I can attest that there are an abundance of commissioning programs available to you that might better suit your career goals. I'm sure you've already discussed your options with your career counselor, but you may want to look more heavily into the STA21 program. In this program, you can attend any civilian university that has an NROTC unit. I don't mean to discourage your ambitions of attending the Academy, I just want to make sure you are aware of the odds of getting Med Corps from there.

Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck. See you in the fleet.

Brian; I will pray for you and wish you luck in the medical field. I am an RN in the states and was looking at this site because my son and his family will soon be moving to Rota with the US Navy. Good Luck!

HI Brian,
I stumbled upon your site after looking up pictures of Rota Spain. My spouse was stationed there and one of my boys was born there. Anyway I wish you the best of luck with your dreams. If the academy doesn't work out. Go for ROTC scholarship. Many blessings to you!!

Brian...I was in Rota from 1973-1977. I was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Oakridge ARDM-1 under Subron 16. We docked and repaired/retrofitted the nuke boomers and fast attacks. I also flew TAD with VQ-2 riding the P-3 Orions under FAIRECONRON 2 sweeping for subs. Our motto is " In God we trust...all others we monitor".
WE DID TRUST IN GOD TOO! I gotta tell you to visit every city you can.Pamplona is awesome and much more than just the bull runs. With open boarders you can be in many countries relatively quickly.
Make the most of it! I have been back several times. ENJOY!
